A: that's cool.

Q: But, where the first place i go when i arrive at Bandung?
A: Do you ever hear about Braga?

Q: No, tell me.
A: Okay...
...

-DEFINITON-
actually, Braga is a street's name, but nowadays Braga is used for a region's name. its called Braga region. Braga's road has been used since Dutch East Indies government. this road is used as Bandung's mascot until now.

-HISTORY-
Initially Jalan Braga is a small street in front of the settlement are quite silent so-called Jalan kidnapped because quite vulnerable, also known as the Way Pedati (Pedatiweg) in the 1900s. Braga became crowded because many businessmen-entrepreneurs especially the Dutch set up shops, bars and entertainment venues in the region such as shops onderling Belang. Later in the decade 1920-1930-an emerging shops and boutiques (boutique) clothes were modeled in Paris, France, who was a mecca of fashions in the world. Concordia building construction Societeit used for meetings of the citizens of Bandung, especially among wealthy gentlemen, Hotel Savoy Homann, office buildings and others in several blocks in the surrounding streets is also increasing the fame and the crowd this way.But the downside is the rise of entertainment-night entertainment and red light area (dimly lit area) in the region to make known Jalan Braga is very touristy. This is where the term of Bandung as the city of flowers began to be known. So that the citizens of Bandung community association when it makes leaflets and announcements that "The gentlemen Tourists should not visit Bandung if not bring his wife or leave the wife at home".In some regions and cities that stand and grow during the Dutch East Indies, also known as the name of streets known as well as Jalan Braga in Bandung like Jalan Kayoetangan in Malang city are also quite famous among the Tourists, especially from the Netherlands also Jalan Malioboro in Yogyakarta and some streets in Jakarta. Unfortunately, the original name of the road is not maintained or changed from the previous name that is considered popular as well as Kayoetangan Street in the city of Malang was changed to Jalan Basuki Rahmat.

Q: Well...is there anything fun there?
A: A lot.

Q: Pardon?
A: Yeaa...
...

when the last time i went there, is about Friday, 23rd of October 2015. and there are so much changes than the old Braga, because Braga has been fixed since the Mr. Ridwan Kamil's leadership. he changed every single step of Braga, except the memories. (okay, foget it.)

so, you will see this if you come to Braga:
Braga's logo
thats the first thing you will see in Braga region. and along that street, you will see many restaurants that can make your stomach hungry. and at the end of that street, you will see the Asia-Africa Museum. the building's color is white with many flag pole in the front of the building. that museum is a good museum, you have to go there. the museum 'writes' the Bandung history.

lights

Asian-Africa Museum
and, if you arrive at the end of that street, you will see a road sign like this:

Braga's street
please, you take the right. and you will walk along the road that many cars and motorcycles cross that road. its okay, its normal in Bandung. if you dont catch what i said, i give you an imagination. (what?) i mean you will see a view like these:

event field

im searching for a better angle!

waterfall (?)

crowded?

Braga at night

big bank
when the night comes, that road is very beautiful i dont lie! maybe i like lights very much but i think the view is beautiful and so romantic. so for you guys who wants to date with you girlfriend/boyfriend, this area would be amazing.
(back to topic)
so you just walk straight along that street... walk.. walk... until you see something like a gate or like a tunnel which on every sides have been written something. because, when you read the words, you will see:

side 1

side 2 from right

side 2 from left

*. Side 1 = "Bumi Pasundan lahir ketika Tuhan sedang tersenyum." which means "
pasundan earth was born when God is smiling".
yeah, you know when the sentence is a little bit excessive, but i agree with that sentence. because, depends on many people, Bandung is the most beautiful city in Indonesia.
*. Side 2 = "Dan Bandung bagiku bukan cuma masalah geografis, lebih jauh dari itu melibatkan perasaan, yang bersamaku ketika sunyi." which means "And Bandung for me is not just a problem of geographical, farther than it involves the feeling, that with me when silent."
nyawww. *________________* no comment from me.

Q: okay, just that?
A: NO

Q: so?
A: its the main of this story...
...

On the right side there is a shopping complex Braga which has the architectural and urban design that retains the architectural characteristics of the old at the time of the Dutch East Indies. The layout of the shop to follow the existing model in Europe in line with the development of the city of Bandung at that time (1920-1940's) as a fairly famous fashion city as well as the city of Paris at the time. Among the shops that still retains the old architectural features is the Sarinah shopping, Kimia Farma and Gedung Merdeka (Building Asia Africa that was once the building Societeit Concordia). Model layout of streets and buildings house shops and offices are located at Jalan Braga also seen in models of other roads in the vicinity of Jalan Braga as Jalan Suniaraja (formerly known as Jalan Parapatan Pump) and Jalan Post (Postweg) ('now Jalan Asia -Afrika ') built by Governor General Herman Willem Daendels in 1811, in front of Gedung Merdeka.

the true Braga's road is the road with Adesit stone for its road. what a wonderful road! (what.)
every sides of Braga's road is fulled by restaurant, cafe, bar, or anything else. in Braga too, there is a mall named (if im not mistaken) Braga City Walk. and there is a big hotel too, named Crowne Hotel. in Braga road, if you want to parking your transportation, you just have to park them on side of the road. And, if you want to pay, you have to pay to parking machine(?) sorry i dont know its name. just, for me thats unique.
and, there is a food court named Braga Food Truck, i write about that in here because i like their decoration.

and, something that takes my mind is someone who sells paintings. i like his paintings. they are so beautiful. i love them because i understand the story behind every paintings. and it makes me to appreciate every wok, because the story is not easy to understand.
Braga is art region, so you dont have to be confused if every road you take, you see many kinds of paintings, because Bandung people are very creative... :D

nature 1

nature 2
and there are 3 paintings that i like the most:
i like [wow] because even 1 dry tree can tell 3 different stories to 3 different subjects. it means that you can do more than you do now. you are not useless or worthless! keep your head up!
i like [wew] because i know the painter love being alone, and it just beautiful how you love being alone while you have sun and land and air and others. the painter told everything in 1 picture. he success shoot me with his painting.

wow

wew

and there is 1 more unique thing in Braga, is the lamp. no no, i mean not the lamp. i mean the lamp pole. it is sticked by a paper of quotes. the quotes were made by Mr. Ridwan Kamil himself, and the every quotes is funny. i said every quotes because 1 pole lamp, 1 quotes paper. the quotes invite us to keep Bandung to be the best city in Indonesia. i love the quotes, besides its funny, it teaches us too.
