Education For A Better Life
Education for a better life
Understanding education by Martinus Jan Langeveld that the
definition of education is an effort to help children to be able to perform his
duties independently in order to be responsible discretion.
Education is a
human effort in guiding human adult immature toward maturity.
whereas a better life is to have a better life than we have
now. a better life may include aspects of health, standard of living, social
status, clothing, food, and shelter. also morals we can change for the better.
Well, but I will
lift a title of the story so I will explain what to look more structured and
organized.
then, I choose "Changing Poverty with Education". Poverty here is not solely the property of
poverty, but poverty can also cover knowledge, morals, and others.
So what is poverty?
poverty is the inability of a person to meet their needs.
poverty can result from the lack or absence of a person's ability to do
something. usually, poverty occurs due to hereditary.
before, I want to remind that I just wanted to write about
the poverty of knowledge. I mentioned earlier that poverty occurs usually
hereditary. Remember the adage "the fruit does not fall far from the
tree?". then, I also heard that the intelligence of a child is the result
of the fusion gene's father and mother.
for example, a father who from childhood studying in a good
school because of his intelligence, his intelligence would give birth to
children who will not be far from his father.
whereas, if the father who had just messing around it, the
habits that will transmit to the child because children imitate their parents.
And if any of you are saying "if so, if the child has a
poverty of knowledge, it was not his fault."
I would answer "no".
Remember what Bill Gates say? if we are born poor, it's not
our fault. if we die poor, it was one of us.
so, how can we not die poor?
the only answer is education. if the child does intend to
change his life for the better, he'll use the only chance he had, namely
education.
Now I will explain what education can change for the better:
1. health
lack of education can lead to a lack of knowledge about what
is good for your health and that is not good. educated person knows that
healthy foods are those that contain carbohydrates, protein, vitamins, minerals,
and water. they also know that cleanliness is the key to health.
for example, if people do not know that eating healthy is
that it contains vitamins, then they would not be trying to meet their vitamin
needs, and as time passes, they easily fall sick due to lack of their vitamin
intake.
about cleanliness, they think only with littering can solve
their problems. they were wrong. precisely with littering can cause new
problems, namely the disruption of their own health.
2. The standard of living
in addition to knowing one's health, education can change a
person's standard of living. if a child has a childhood that he can not buy a
lot of stuff, do a lot of things, or something that requires not a little
money, he has a standard of living that can be fairly small. however, he wants
to change everything. He learned well, he was chase the success of education.
until at some point, he followed a high level of education, and graduated with
very satisfactory results. a lot of people out there are looking for someone
like him. the child was offered a lot of work, and because he aspired since
childhood, he would choose a job that can turn into a better standard of
living.
3. morals
character is the most important part of our lives. Remember
the saying "faith without knowledge is death."? and I also have a
school motto "knowledge is power but character is more."
Both of those statements seems that both have an important
role in our lives.
moral education is needed by someone who wanted to change
his life for the better.
someone whose every success due for his own production, would
be much appreciated by people in the future.
whereas someone whose success happens because of others or
for copying the work of others, their future possibility would be ostracized
others, such as corrupt. but not least also the lack of good habits change it.
Essentially, do not let the knowledge mastered our characters,
but make the our character mastered our knowledge.
so we now know that education is very important to change
our future for the better.
how to get an education?
The answer is easy to upper class people. but what about the
middle to the bottom?
1. 9-year compulsory education.
in Indonesia, there have been a government program called
"9-year compulsory education". This program states that children in
Indonesia should learn in school a minimum of 9 years. school devoted to this
program are public schools, and the cost is free. so, every child in Indonesia
have no reason for not educated at least 9 years.
2. scholarships
for kids who really wanted to go to favorite schools, they
can use this opportunity. however, depending on the school, there were
absolutely eliminate all costs, there are just some.
3. School Operational Assistance.
in Indonesia, there have been other government programs that
help the school operational. This program aims to help Indonesian families who
can only afford to pay school fees alone. that is, they are not able to meet
other needs such as payment of school uniforms, purchase of stationery and
other school payments. here, the government provides funding to the school
which will be managed by the school concerned for poor families. not all
families are able to receive this aid, but only a few families are in
accordance with government requirements. funds provided by the government are
also not a lot, but adapted to the number of disadvantaged pupils in the
school.
have you heard the story about Chairul?
first, his father was a news reporter and Chairul live life
as normal with his friends, but his father had to quit his job in the new order
because of the news that he wrote contrasts with the political authorities at
the time. they have to sell their house and live in a small inn.
Both his parents are
very strict in educating children, according to them, to get out of poverty,
education is a step that must be taken.
Chairul learn to step on the course. school fees does not
make Chairul desperate to reach his dream. in fact, with his spirit, he raises
his business life and see it now? he became a very successful man.
the conclusion is already evident that the life-changing
education for the better. and there is no reason for someone to say that he was
not able to change his future because as the saying goes, "there are many
roads lead to Rome", as long as he does intend in his heart.
so, I'll just give a message to you "finghting in your
education and if ever you fall, make sure that you bounce back! adage, 'I fall
seven times and I got up for the eighth time'"
Thank you for your attention, I am sorry if any of my words
are less pleasing in your hearts. final word I say so and I'll see you.
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to
change the world.”
